We’ve answered some of the most common questions about our First Aid courses below.
1. Which First Aid course is right for me?
Choose HLTAID009 if you only need CPR.
Choose HLTAID011 for standard workplace First Aid.
Choose HLTAID012 if you work in childcare, schools or education and care settings.
Times can vary, but generally:
HLTAID009 CPR: around 2–3 hours
HLTAID011 / HLTAID012: typically half-day to full day
(You can adjust this on the website to match your exact schedule.)
You must be able to perform 2 minutes of continuous CPR on a manikin placed on the floor to be assessed as competent. If you’re unsure, contact us before booking.
Industry recommends:
CPR (HLTAID009): renew every 12 months
First Aid (HLTAID011 & HLTAID012): renew every 3 years
To be assessed as competent, you must be able to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor. If you have an injury or condition that may affect this, please contact us before booking.
Please bring:
Valid photo ID (e.g. driver licence or passport)
Your USI (Unique Student Identifier)
A pen and any pre-course workbook if required
Comfortable clothing suitable for kneeling on the floor.
Yes. Our First Aid units are nationally recognised qualifications, accepted by workplaces and industries across Australia when issued in line with current standards.
Assessment includes:
Practical demonstrations (CPR, bandaging, placing a casualty in recovery position, etc.)
Short written or verbal questions to check your understanding of key concepts.
After you successfully complete all assessments and provide the required ID, we process your Statement of Attainment within our normal timeframe (e.g. 1–3 business days – adjust to suit your process).
